The Blair Witch Project save is a great example of the idea
that you don't need a huge budget to make a profitable and successful film.
With the long awaited sequel coming out soon, many people wonder if it will
live up to its epic predecessor.
There are many ways that the production team on this film
saved money, and I'm going to be telling you about them in this blog
post.
One of the major things was the fact that the film is based
on the narrative Of the filming of a documentary. This allowed for the use of
the handheld cameras throughout the film, meaning less money is being used on buying the latest camera equipment. This also means less money has to be spent
on sound because using the handheld cameras. The sound would be odd if it was good
quality and it wouldn't sound right , it has to match the handheld cameras to
keep realism.
The whole film is shot in a outside wood which means that
the lighting doesn't have to be artificial, which uses even less money. Even
though they don't use artistically created lighting, the film still has a
strong feeling of tension and fear when it needs to, this is created by the great
choices of camera angles and great acting performances.
