History Of Animation

In my opinion, stop motion animation is made in order to allow people to have a breath of fresh air every once in a while in the media, after all who doesn’t love a well-executed stop motion film or tv show? What I am trying to say is there is something special about Stop motion, the fact that every shot has to be thought out, executed to perfection and then edited together with a convincing sound track is just remarkable. A good theory I’ve come up with is, imagine an action sequence with gun fire and explosions and the whole lot, imagine it all in a computer-generated animation, and then imagine it in stop motion. Now in my personal opinion, although both animations will depict the same thing, the stop motion will be more impressive. This could be as a result of the interesting ways in which they would go about creating a realistic atmosphere, without just sitting and creating it on a screen, they actually physically have to make it. this is why I think the future of stop motion animation is safe, as although the computer-generated animation is ever evolving, I just don’t think it will ever be able to re-create the same feel of a well-executed stop motion sequence. This is shown in the documentary 'From Pencil to Pixels. This was first shown on BBC, the documentary depicts various opinions on computer animation taking over the from more traditional styles.
